I bit the bullet!

Chas · March 23, 2020 · Leave a Comment

Well, I did it. After much encouragement, I, with fear and trepidation went ahead and made my first tutorials for youtube and IGTV.

Here are my first installments for sourdough bread.

Please don’t expect perfection, you won’t get that here… what you will get is a gal who is trying to be helpful to many right now who just want to put good healthy food on their table. Who are finding themselves in a new predicament, maybe being home a bit more than in the past, or maybe you have just decided you want to bake. This is simple, direct, and easy to follow.

My heart is to help anyone out there who may be intimidated by the technical sourdough how-to’s. This is a get-your-feet-wet type method. It will get you baking and hopefully give you courage to try lots more sourdough recipes! I plan to repost some from my past as well as add a few new ones that I’ve used lately.

The second video is how to make a sourdough boule. The instructions are specific to that type of bread, which I find a little easier to show rather than to write, but here are the basic instructions…

Mix 1/2 cup starter with 1 1/2 cups room temp, filtered water. After you’ve mixed those together you can add your flour. 3 1/2 cups total. I used 2 cups white plain flour and 1 1/2 cup hard red wheat. Mix together with your liquids. Finally add your 1 1/2 tsp salt. Mix.
Cover and allowed to ferment, double, and rest for at least 12 hours!
**Don’t forget to feed your starter!

I hope these encourage you during this time! If you have any questions, feel free to post below or email me at

Be well!
