Chocolate Lasagna

Chas · December 21, 2015 ·

This past weekend we had two of our Christmas celebrations. I wanted to make something different… something that I’ve never made before and something that maybe they had never tried. So Chocolate Lasagna was my answer. Of course I put my own spin on it, and it was very good. There are a couple of things that I want to try if I make it again… but otherwise a big win for the chocolate lovers in my family.
There really is no way to make this a ‘more healthy version’, but you can make it a slightly less processed version by substituting your own whipped cream and your own chocolate pudding.
Ingredients are:
1 pack Oreo Cookies
6Tbsp butter
12 oz of cool whip (or make your own)
1 block cream cheese
1 box instant chocolate pudding (or make your own)
milk
vanilla
mini chocolate chips
1 pack Oreo cookies or chocolate sandwich cookies (not double stuff)(leave about 4 oreos to crumble for layer)
6 Tbsp butter (melted)
With oreos crumbled (I used the food processor) mix in melted butter and then press into bottom of a 9×13 baking dish to form the crust.
For your white creamy section, you can make about 12 oz of sweetened whipped cream or you can buy a 12 oz tub of cool whip. That’s up to you.
1 block of cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 Tbsp milk and 2 tsp vanilla and mix til fluffy. Once mixed, fold in 1/2 your whipped cream.
Chocolate pudding layer is 1 box of instant pudding mix with recommended amount of milk or make your own pudding if you have a recipe. Once made and thickened like pudding you are ready to assemble.
First layer is your crust
Second layer is 1/2 your cream mixture
3rd layer is 1/2 your pudding mixture
4th layer is more crushed oreos
5th layer is the last of the cream mixture
6th layer is the last of your pudding
7th layer is the remaining whipped cream
and finally your 8th layer is
mini chocolate chips sprinkled on top
Not at all a health food recipe by any stretch of the imagination.
But very yummy and great for a party!
Enjoy!
