More baskets

Chas · August 12, 2015 ·

Have I told you how much I love making these baskets? I really do…
And while I’ve been making them, I’ve learned some things.
One thing I have noticed on other places is that there isn’t a lot of information out there. Like they are trying to hoard the rope basket making knowledge for themselves. haha
I honestly don’t know if there is a right or wrong way to do it, but I have learned that COTTON is the best way to go for me.
I’ve used the nylon 7/32″ and it works and I’ve made several nice baskets with it…. but the cotton 3/16″ is my favorite. I wish I could tell you how to exactly make each basket, but it’s all free form.
I don’t count how many rounds, or at what point I start pulling the baskets upward to form the sides. There really is no way of explaining that, at least that I know of.
It’s something that you should try out if you are interested. Give it a go… if not there are MANY people out there selling their wares.
I’m one of them. 😉
I haven’t listed any on etsy just yet, but you can visit my Facebook page where I am posting any new creations.
The one above… I call it The Farmer’s Market Basket!
It’s my fave and I’m making another one today.
Love!
Have a great day, friends!
xoxo
