I wish I could tell you that it was my babe, but it’s not.
This is for a family member who’s sweet one was born just Saturday on my Dumplin’s special day. Carlie Jean turned 9 and her baby cousin Eva (pronounced E-va) was born that morning in Brussels!
I wanted it to be something special. I knew she was wanting yellows and who am I not to oblige when it comes to yellow… my all time most favorite color!
But, I had this idea of throwing a splash of deep pink.
I love the outcome.
The vibrant pink rose looks so beautiful against the soft variegated yellows and white.
I finished the dress quickly enough and decided… This baby needs some shoes to go with such a dress.
So the needles were again brought out, some black yarn and now we have the sweetest little pair of black Mary Jane shoes ever!
When I put those with the dress, I loved it, but I kept thinking… I wish I had a pair of socks to put with the outfit. My Sister came through with an extra pair and I stitched a scalloped lacy edge around the itty bitty socks.
Another little addition was a headband and there you have it. A beautiful ensemble for a beautiful babe born on the 6th of July.
