Once a year Lake Winnie holds their annual, Scout Day. On that day, scouts can wear their uniform and be admitted to the park for free. I mentioned the idea to my dear husband months ago, because I’m like that. An over compulsive planner… *grin*… He thought it was a great idea. In the meantime, I found that it would be the last family fun day of the year also, so if I could find coupons that would save our family another $20! So, I began putting the plan into motion. We packed a picnic, planned to make sure it wouldn’t be an issue to be absent from church for the day and saved a little back to pay for our tickets. We planned on letting everyone sleep in, but a little one with a bad dream ran us out of bed earlier than expected. We didn’t tell the kids until yesterday morning because we wanted to take them right afterwards. If not it would have been days and weeks of “how many more days???”
We arrived about half an hour before the gates opened. We wanted to make sure we got a whole day full!
Ride after ride. All day. The only time we weren’t riding is when we ran back out to the vehicle to eat our sandwich! It was an incredibly fun day and I’m so glad we were able to take a little vacation from reality and play for a while.
