Knowing just what a monumental feat it would be to go totally off grid, I will have to be patient. I wish I could tell you that I had the patience of Job…. alas, I can. not. I used to think I was incredibly patient, I’m not. ๐ haha
So, instead of moaning over when will I be able to do this, wah, wah, wah. I am going to start weaving in some “down” time into our schedules, and start trying to rid ourselves of so many electronic gadgets and more manual ones.
One thing is, I will begin to use my laundry line MORE! Thankfully The Papa (Shannon) just tightened it up for me, so that will make things so much nicer.
Not using that dryer will help so much!
Another, is I am thinking about incorporating a power-off day. Meaning, we will solely cook over the fire pit or on the grill, we will not wash any clothes unless it is by hand, we will not dry any clothes unless it is by clothesline. No tv. No computer. No lights except candles or lanterns.
We’ll see how it goes. ๐
And just in general, we will be working towards making our garden bigger, our grocery trips fewer, our taste-buds more accustom to fresh out of the garden or pantry and not just what we want… when we want it.
When money allows I would like to purchase a few of these for our home
Those would be beneficial on our no-electricity nights. ๐
So, baby-stepping… being patient, and working towards our goals and not just talking about them. Becoming more pro-active and disciplined.
Have a great day, friends!
