Recently a message board that I frequent has been talking about seeking out the lovely, finding the beautiful, or creating whimsy.
I have felt that I am one that seeks these things out on a daily basis… although at times we get so harried and busy that the beauty fades.
I have been reminded how I ache for this. I love seeing the beautiful in the simple. The glory in the mundane. The joy in the little.
I am completely surrounded by it every. single. day.
Now, don’t get me wrong. There is the ugly, the uglier and the ugliest ALL around me as well. In all honesty, there are things that are right beside my home that it almost brings me to tears because it is so unsightly. But, the point is to look past the bad and see the good.
It’s hard.
Really, really hard sometimes.
So, it is time to seek out the lovely. Search for the beautiful and embrace the joy.
The Lord has blessed us tremendously… count your blessings. Name them one by one.
Make time to understand the true joy of finding the beauty in these days that the Lord has made.

My daughter who is 6 was helping me put away the potatoes from the 10 lb bag we were given. While reaching in I pulled out this potato! She said, “Mom! It looks just like a heart!” “I know!” I replied.
She then said, “It’s just another way that God shows us, He loves us!”
Right then, I melted and Praised the Maker for His love and mercy.
My Cup Runneth Over…
