Choosing to serve?

Chas · June 28, 2010 ·

Elijah-7
Happy Monday, Friends! Here we are about to close out another month of 2010! It really is amazing how time flies by…. But we were warned, right?
…Time flies when you’re havin’ fun…
Now that I am older and I watch my children growing before my eyes, I can truly attest to that.
All my life, I have enjoyed children. I love to play and learn and grow… the things children are known for doing.  I love to make my children smile. I want to do things with them that they enjoy, but I also want them to know that the world doesn’t revolve around them… is that mean?
I don’t believe so.
In the beginning, we were put here for a purpose. We were made by God and for God, for His glory!
I want to show our children that we were not put here to ‘grab all the gusto’ but to…
Micah 6:8
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good;
and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly,
and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Jesus was a servant. He in all His infinite glory, served others!
Are we better than that???
No!
We are to follow His lead!
Loving, Serving, Sharing… these traits are not familiar to the world of these days.
The Bible says…
Romans 12:1-3
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,
that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy,
acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world:
but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
For I say, through the grace given unto me,
to every man that is among you,
not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think;
but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
I will follow His example and lead my children to do the same….
What about you?
