Christmas Breakfast Casserole

Chas · December 23, 2009 · Leave a Comment

With a little planning and prep work, I get to be with the family on Christmas morning instead of being in the kitchen.
This casserole has all that you love in a big breakfast, without all the time spent to make a big breakfast. ๐Ÿ™‚

Breakfast Casserole

1 lb. sausage cooked and drained (sometimes I have used deer sausage)
1c. sharp cheddar cheese grated
2c. milk
6 eggs lightly beaten
6 slices bread cubed no crust (Homemade bread works great)
1tsp. salt
Mix all ingredients together and pour into a greased 9X13 pan. Cover and Refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350* for 30-35 mins

I hope you have a beautiful Christmas and a Happy New Year as well.
And if you haven’t entered in my giveaway I posted yesterday, scroll on down and enter. It was on yesterday’s entry. ๐Ÿ™‚

We have that casserole, along with cinnamon rolls every Christmas morning ๐Ÿ™‚ When i first get up, into the oven goes the casserole, and by the time the presents are opened and everyone is relaxing with their goodies, it is time for breakfast ๐Ÿ™‚ the only difference is mine calls for 8 slices of bread. We LOVE this casserole

Do you leave it covered while it bakes?

No Rene' I believe I uncover mine before it bakes, but I haven't made it since last year… and well, I have trouble remembering.

Thank you for this. We loved it on Christmas morning, and again the next morning (I had a lot of sausage to use up). So delicious. We wil make it every year.
