Our Christmas, in fairly self explanatory pictures.
It's cold.
We're sick.
There have been bright spots, thank You Lord!
Some fun, lots of naps, tons of blankets.
The end.
I hope your Christmas days have been merry. ❤

Merry Christmas Eve with a little present to you...
Happy Christmas my friends! We are excitedly celebrating our Savior's birth and as with all the giving and receiving, I thought I would pop by and give you a little something.
I received this beautiful coffee mug last night. It didn't have a cozy around the middle so I stitched one up this morning.
Red and aqua is such a favorite color combination of mine right now, I had no qualms about what color the cozy would be!
Here's my simplistic pattern, a little gift on this happy Christmas Eve!
Coffee Cozy:
Chain 11
Row 2-37 Turn and sc in 2nd chain from hook and each chain til end (10 stitches) chain 1 turn
Row 38 slip stitch in next 5 stitches chain 5 and slip stitch in last 5 stitches.
Finish off.
On opposite side sew a favorite button about center.
This pattern fits my new coffee cup perfectly. The coffee cup is right about 10" around.
It would be a great project for any of you new to crocheting, or teaching your daughters or sons!
I love quick, easy little projects!
Let me know if you have any questions.
Blessings to you and have a very, Merry Christmas!!

Grinch Punch
Working along with our advent calendar, last night was 'Watch a Christmas movie and make root beer floats'. Problem. I detest root beer, as does several others in the family. So I thought about it and decided that we would have Grinchy punch instead.
Unable to find my punch bowl since the remodel, I had to improvise. I grabbed my wash tub, gave it a good cleaning and made the punch.
The punch is super simple and you can change it up to whatever your family enjoys.
I took a carton of green fruit punch. Several scoops of lime sherbet, lemon lime soda or ginger ale.
For a fun bonus, I added a maraschino cherry. This was the Grinch's heart that was 3 times to small.
We all piled up together. Blankets, twinkle lights all aglow and enjoyed a rather silly Christmas movie together. No, it wasn't the grinch. We already watched that. :)

The 25 days til Christmas

This year was the first year that I have been able to put up a tree in the kitchen also. I have been wanting to do that for YEARS, but since we were able to take the wall last spring, it opened our kitchen up to allow a small, happy tree. :)
I printed these from Pinterest and then laminated them and coordinated them to which day would work best on our schedule

I also printed out these dates and laminated them so we could reuse them... I taped them on the front of our brown bags...

And of course Scripture! I printed off 25 days worth of Scripture telling of the Birth of Christ. I laminated them and put them in the bag with the card saying what today will bring.
Scripture printables
It was really easy and the kids really enjoy opening each day so far.
I just used brown bag lunch bags and taped the day on the front, put the Scripture, activity and a candy(on some days) and tied it up with some red yarn. The kids then arranged the bags around our little kitchen tree.
I hope you are doing something to make each day Merry!
Have fun!
xoxo
