A new raised bed...

Abe has been adversely affected by the warm weather. He claims it is SO hot, it is TOO hot. So what he does is strip down to his undies and says that it is the only way he can stay cool enough to work. haha... I figure at 4 you should still be allowed to run around in your undies (although I am sure SOME might not agree)... and besides look how incredibly hilarious and cute he is with his underware, his work boots and his spade, ready to garden! I love it!
So we began work on our 4th raised bed last night after it got a bit cooler. This bed will house our squash and zucchini plants.
Cinder-blocks can be very pricey, but if you know anyone who does construction... sometimes there are some left over and you can buy them for next to nothing or get them for free!
If not, many times you can find a concrete plant that has 2nds and they sell them for a discount.
We were given these blocks from a job site that had too many and if they were hauled away they were free! Yippee! :)
The bed was filled with top soil and a manure/hummus mixture. I am hoping that our plants will thrive here.
And if all that were not enough cuteness, this is Cameo and Frodo. He is the sweetest bunny ever! We get him out and he hops around us while we work, never getting too far away. He is a dwarf rabbit so he will stay smallish. We hope to breed him with Chocolate when he gets older, how precious would dwarf chocolate bunnies be?!?! Awww!!!
I thank you for your visit and I hope you come back again soon. Have a great day my friends!!

  1. Dearest Chas, You have a great day too. What a deal those free cinder blocks were. I feel a WOOOHOOO! comin' on. God Bless you and your family. Cynthia

  2. Chasity, I think Abe looks adorable in his undies and boots. When growing up in the 60s it was a common sight where we lived to see a little kid in a diaper and rubber pants sitting in the yard eating a popsicle or wearing their boots and galloping down the sidewalk on a stick horse. How cute and innocent they all were. I miss those days.
Thank your little Abe for reminding me of them. Ana

  3. Hey, Chas! Here I am again, sharing a little more love with ya on your awesome blog. I read this post a few days ago and thought how much I have loved my toddlers' chubby legs and poochy tummies. More squeezeable than Charmin Ultra Soft. ;)

Then yesterday, I went to our mini-storage to hunt up some shoes that Ruby might be able to wear this winter. Last night dh changed a *very* poopy diaper that soaked through her clothes, and whaddya know, my Ruby Dumpling ended up runnin' around in nuthin' but her clean diaper and some sweet little red suede boots. I thought of you, of course! :D
